You have found the right place if you're looking for an iconic 1980s sports car. Below are some of our favorites examples. We also include the Pontiac Fiero GT, the GM F-Body, the Saab Turbo 16S GT, and the Buick GNX. But are there any other 80s cars that deserve your attention as well? Continue reading to find out more about the performance history of each model.

Pontiac Fiero GT

From 1984 to 1988, the first Pontiac Fiero production car was a two-seat midengine sports car. Pontiac's moral triumph, the Fiero was an alternative to Chevrolet Corvette. Although initially marketed as a commuter vehicle, the Fiero was in fact a mini with high-mileage to meet CAFE standards.

GM F Body

The GM-80 Camaro/Firebird would still have been part of the GM F-Body lineup, but with a new design and improved performance. Third-generation Camaro's platform had been redesigned to be lighter. This would have made it easier to handle. Although the car used steel structural frames and molded panels, engineers looked into extruding aluminum or rolling steel tubular structures. They chose composites due to their corrosion resistance and cost saving.

Saab Turbo 16S GT

Saab's Turbo 16S was a popular model from the 1980s. Saab introduced the Automatic Performance Control in 1982 when it began exporting cars. This system allowed the car run on different grades and gasoline without causing any damage. In 1983, the Turbo and GLE gained central locking doors. Turbo received Asbestos-free brakes. The front pads were semi-metallic and the rear were silica-based. 1984 saw the introduction of a new central console for the GLE model. In addition, bumper decor strips got wider.

Buick GNX

The Grand National Series and GM Company's 1980 and 1982 championships in that series were the inspirations for the GNX. Buick Regal, GNX-based, was driven by Darrell Waltrip, who was the winner of the Buick Grand National Series in 1982 and 1982. The 4.1-liter naturally aspirated V6 produced 125 horsepower. The Buick GNX was produced until 1983, when it was dropped from Buick's lineup.

Saab 944

The Porsche 944 was the first turbocharged high-performance sports car to arrive on the US market. The Porsche 944 was produced in a very short time between 1983 and 1991. However, its performance was enough to make Porsche 911 owners forget about it. The 944 model was built up until 1991. Its production numbers can be found and range between 2,402 to 3,098. This model number is often found on the US markets as WPOBA/WPOCB.

Porsche 959

The Porsche 911 Carrera S has a faster engine than the Porsche 959. The 959's handling is incredible, even though the body is only 1,450kg lighter. Although the antilock brakes of the 959 are very effective, the body isn’t as tight so bumps in Molecomb corner could catch you by surprise. The Porsche 959 was a sports car that was popular during its heyday, so a spirited drive might be in order.

Saab Turbo 16S GT GT Manual Transmission

Saab Turbo 16S GT is the only car that has a manual transmission. Its 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engines, combined with a five speed manual transmission, made for an enjoyable driving experience. The car's suspension system was developed to ensure that the driver is well protected from road hazards. Its rear and front double wishbone suspensions provided excellent handling. The rear suspension system was a traditional beam axle with a Panhardrod stabilizing it. Watts linkages connected the axle to the chassis, allowing the driver to adjust various vehicle functions. The vehicle's lower control arm was attached at its bottom. While the upper link was on the top, it faced the rear. Power steering was also an option on the Saab Turbo 16S GT GT.

How To

How to set up a business plan for a car repair shop

Before you can do anything else, it is important to have a solid understanding of how to begin a business. First, you need to decide what kind of business you want to start. Consider starting in a small area with few competition. If things don't go according to plan, you won’t have to look hard for another job. You will want to locate your auto repair shop near large populations if you plan to open it. You'll have customers who can come see you when they need help and will also be able sell them new parts at affordable prices.

When starting out, you might want to think about opening a franchise opportunity. Franchises usually require less capital investment than a traditional business does. You still need to pay monthly royalties and fees to franchisors. It is important to be cautious when choosing a franchise. They often promise big returns but fail to deliver on those promises.

If you are already working in retail, you might consider opening your own auto repair shop. Many who own their own businesses agree that it was the best decision they made. You must still create a business plan before starting. You should write down all the goals you want for your business. Some examples of goals might be increasing sales, customer service and lowering costs. These goals are important to set and can be used as a guideline for how you will achieve them.

If you are interested in opening a repair shop for autos, the next thing is to determine how to finance it. In order to finance their businesses, the majority of people borrow money from credit unions and banks. Banks usually require collateral. This means you must have something to offer as security. People may even be able to borrow against their homes. You will need to demonstrate that you have sufficient cash flow for the loan repayments to qualify for a loan.

Once your business has been funded, you will need a license. There are many types of licenses you can get depending on the type of business you wish to run. Auto mechanics need to be licensed by the state, while body shops require a federal license.

Marketing strategies are the last thing that you should do. Before you can start advertising, it is important to define what your company stands behind. What is your business' uniqueness? What can you do to improve on what others have done before? These are all important questions to ask when creating a strong brand identity. This information will help you design more effective advertisements.
